Honestants and Swindlecants #8 (Solution)

Have you got your answer? Let’s compare with mine.
In this case, the gringo wanted to know what day it was, so he asked four aborigines and got different answers:
A: Yesterday was Wednesday (today is Thursday).
B: Tomorrow will be Sunday (today is Saturday).
C: Today is Friday.
D: The day before yesterday was Thursday (today is Saturday).

Here, we need to know how many people lied in order to know what day of the week it was. But we got no clue about how many people lied nor who lied. Can we solve the problem? Uhmpp….

There’s a tickling simple logic concept playing on my mind. What the gringo wanted to know: what day it was, so he must asked them, “What day is it?” Then, the aborigines must answered “Today is…”, not “Yesterday was…”, “Tomorrow will be…”, or “The day before yesterday was…”. So, don’t care with what others said, I focus on what C said –today is Friday.

So, I conclude that it was Friday. What do you think?

P.S.: This brain teaser I copied from Brain Teasers (http://brainden.com/logic-problems.htm). Just on click on that link, then you’ll get more brain teasers to tease your brain or even just to ease your boring day. When you get stuck, you can visit brain teasers forum to get extra “clues” from them whom have tried to solve it (but for me, it’s better to do it by myself as I did in solving this quiz).
